The Basics

My name is Andrew Savage and I'm lucky enough to work in Rock'n'Roll. This is my little corner of the Internet, I've owned this domain since 1999 and it's seen everything from SETI logs to kit cars. Now it's all about my current work and also a place for me to share all the interesting things I've discovered in the depths of the web.

• I don't have a driving license (I'm working on this but in the mean time I'm still happy to travel)
• Minimal experience on dedicated monitor consoles (Normally do them from FOH)
• Degree in Computing and Electronics
• I have my own tools and PPE.
• Registered as self employed (and paying correct Tax/National Insurance)
• £5 Million PLI from Crew Cover
• I'm a member of the PSA.

What I do:

I work as a sound engineer, stage crew, general tech, site crew or even (when I'm really skint) security. I don't mind tipping trucks or building steeldeck. If your load in needs to start at 6am I'll be awake (but I don't make any promises about my sense of humor). I enjoy mixing small and medium sized rooms even if the gear is bellow average (although I reserve the right to moan about the kit for at least an hour). If I have to sleep in a tent for days thats fine (my tent is waterproof and my sleeping bag warm). I like putting lights up even if they've got to be hauled on a pulley, I'm used to working with volunteers. I have no issue with heights or long hours, I don't mind if the PA is re-entry horns on scaff poles or some nice l'acoustics kit (I don't have a lot of experince with flown PA but I'm always willing to learn).... I like IT kit and even some video stuff so I'm happy to set that up, babysit or fault find.  I like making things too.
